About the Fireside Music as Medicine sessions:

These Fireside Music as Medicine sessions aim to offer a space for all to gather around the Salisbury Centre fire and enjoy exquisite music, songs and hamonies.

These sessions also offer an opportunity to share the power of offering Music as part of a Prayer, Ritual, Ceremony or whatever you might call it to:

  • Nurture our Soul, Mind & Body through sitting in a circle around a central Fire

  • Build & strengthen community in a safe space to simply BE and sing together

  • Share meaningful and inspiring music, songs, poems, quotes, sacred texts, writing, life-stories, dances

  • Witness and be witnessed in our sharing, to build solidarity and heart-connection (and enjoy! )

  • Reignite the ancient ways of sharing a ritual space, as well as share cross-cultural indigenous wisdom

  • Connect to and acknowledge the mystical side of life, THAT which is ungraspable to the mind and which can enable us to re-connect to the flow and Magic of life.

Sacred Fire

In these sessions the sacred Fire will be a central focus of the gathering and there will be opportunity to learn about Firekeeping as a way to hold powerful intentional spaces around fires

The Fire is a teacher in itself as well as a mysterious ancient portal where, with focussed intention, we can send prayer and receive all the time-less prayers that our ancestors have prayed, sang, danced in that fire before us.

Suggested Donation -Sliding scale

£ 8 low income –  £10 Waged – £15 Pay it forward

There is scope to help on the night for those who would like to contribute that way.

An invitation to practice ‘Dana‘ (generosity) – please pay only what you can afford to attend.

Few words on donations:

Participation in our community-led events is often on a voluntary ‘by donation’ basis. This means that nobody is expected to make a payment if they cannot afford to do so. However, any donations received will be shared between the Centre and the facilitator, helping to make the events’ programme sustainable as well as to provide some reciprocity towards community facilitators’ time and skills offered.

Where a “suggested donation” is listed, this is just an indication of what the event might cost if it was ticketed – it is fine to donate less (or nothing at all). Donating is one way to show your appreciation for the value of the Salisbury Centre. Please consider ‘paying it forward’ by donating a bit extra if you can afford, helping to keep it possible for everyone to take part, regardless of their circumstances.
