Wild-Hive Wildlife Club (Children forest after school!) - Weekly

  • Roslin Forest (Meet outside Roslyn chapel) Details, dates and location will be confirmed to those who express interest by filling the form in the event description (map)

Connecting the passion for our Roslin Glen and to support the local community with fulfilling and meaningful after-school activities, we have created Wild Hive Youth - we provide a safe space for children from from 6 years old onwards to explore nature in a deeper way, through play, wild-life skills sharing, team-work & lots of adventures!

We believe in the medicine & well-being support that nature can give to the youth, in times like these where we spend so much time indoors, on screens, young people might feel disconnected to the wild and needing a bridge of initiation to relate to trees, rives, wild-life.

Creating a safe space of creativity and exploration with conscious education in the woods can be extremely beneficial to children.

"The outdoor activities involved children learning about nature, such as identifying plants and trees, reflecting on their important role in our lives and considering the needs of wildlife habitats. Nature connection refers to the level at which a person considers nature to be a part of their identity, reflecting their emotional closeness to the natural world. Nature connection essentially includes a love of nature and care and concern for the environment." - Wild Life Trusts Article https://www.wildlifetrusts.org/.../new-report-nature...)

If you are a guardian of a child age 6+ and believe in the importance and goodness of spending time in nature, understanding and respecting our biodiversity while having fun and learning wild-life skills, you are SO welcome to join us!

We are nature-enthusiast adults, with years of experience & super passionate about the well-being that nature can provide to us & our children. Believing in the importance of relating to nature & understanding it's layers, respecting the wild-life, and giving back. In our group sessions, we nurture teamwork, self-confidence, and connecting to the wild-life as much as possible.

"I like to say I am passionate about re-wilding the human specie. Meaning that I believe in the importance & benefits of spending time in nature: connecting with the elements, creating, stopping to breathe, giving back, understanding it, taking care of it.
I truly believe in creating a safe space for the young generations to experience nature in a deeper lever & to feel that they belong to it rather than just 'a thing' that we look at and feel good about it.
I have worked with young humans in many circumstances both here in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Brazil & Peru. I have led small groups of children who were homeschooled & flexischooled to nature play in south west of Ireland & I have led with a team, teenager groups in gatherings such as Earth Song Camps, International Youth Camp, and south american institutes that support children in high risk to connect to art & storytelling, etc
I have worked passionately with therapeutic horseback riding & children with special needs in the south of Ireland.
I believe that education goes beyond the school and it takes a village to raise a child. I am a student of ways to support the youth to find more ease into life's endeavors and not less important that techniques, holding an open heart for them. I am very intrigued by the development & changes that some children can experience by being held in a safe, welcoming and inclusive container where nature can do her job reflecting back essential teachings & inspiring this new generation to spend less time on the screens, knowing that nature is a place they can go and feel nourished by. In nature kids can experience their senses, team work, solitude, playground, spontaneity, connection & all the healthy vitamins coming from the trees & soil."
